angel's wings
As a birthday present to you, my readers, I offer my review of an album that I've been playing the hell out of recently. That would be Social Distortion's Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll. I'm pretty pleased with this disc, a bunch of the songs are really getting stuck in my head (in a good way) which is pretty much the test of how good a CD is in my opinion. My only real complaint is that it is too short. Pretty much every track has a good melody and Mike Ness, the lead singer, mixes it up a bit on the vocals, much more than on their previous stuff that I'm used to. I think that makes it fresh and not just more of the same hard-driving guitar and drum beats, although those show some great work on this disc as well. All in all I give it 8 out of 10 thumbs up, with negative points only given for being a measly 10 songs. Go check it out if you're into that kind of music, I don't think you'll be dissapointed.

You say you're down on your luck.
Hey baby it's a long, long way up.
Hold back now, hold back your fears.
You say you're really down and out
and you feel like there's no way out now.
Let go now, let go your tears (some more).
