HP calculates my severance pay with a formula based on years of service along with several other values. I just received a printout with a summary so that I can verify that it is correct. They have calculated my years of service to an astounding 16 decimal places!! The number is so long that it overflows the field on the form they print it on. The net difference of calculating it to just 3 decimal places is less than $1.64. Does this seem ridiculous to anyone else?
