That's a bit of a long winded title, and if I were in their marketing department I would probably trim it down a bit. I also like the way they randomly compress "SoupMan" and "ZagatRated" together. Maybe their space bar broke. Nevertheless I ate the aforementioned "soup" last night. Two things -- this is the soup made famous by Seinfeld and The Soup Nazi episode. (Apparently "Soup Nazi" didn't go over well with the marketing department so they changed it to "SoupMan". Whatever.), and second I say "soup" in quotation marks back there because the chili version is, unsurprisingly, more like chili than soup. Maybe "TheChiliNazi" is already copyrighted and so he had to stick with soup in the title? I don't know.
Now, I like chili and I often eat Hormel Turkey Chili which is nothing special but is certainly edible. This Soup Man Chili on the other hand is on a whole different level. Remember when Elaine tried the Soup Nazi's soup for the first time and had to sit down because it made her weak in the knees? That's not just dramatic effect, it really is that damn good. This was possibly the best chili I've ever had, and certainly the best Turkey Chili. It was slightly too soupy for my liking, and it contained carrots which just seems wrong, but other than that it was probably the best meal I've had all week. I think I had a dream about soup last night. I need more soup and will stop at nothing to get it. You have been warned.
So, until a Soup Man franchise opens up nearby, get yourself down to your local supermarket and look for the conveniently packaged "soup", or soup. Whichever you prefer. You may want to try some of the other, more soupy, flavors but I'll be sticking to the chili. Bon appetit!
