In the grand tradition of making useless lists I was thinking about bands that I have seen play live.  Turns out it isn't that many. 1994 was a banner year but things have sort of dropped off since then.  I'm ashamed of myself.

I left out the smaller bands that you've never heard of, mostly because I can't remember them.  Of those above, the only one that I can really say "I saw them before they were huge!" is Dave Matthews Band.  They were just starting to blow up in 1994 and weren't really a name-brand yet.
