shooting star
Today was a big day. I'm sure you already heard about the Columbia thing. That pretty much occupied my attention for most of the morning. That really sucks, and I'm not ashamed to say I was very saddened by the news. Seven brave people were only 15 minutes from home after traveling I don't know how many millions of miles. That is a risk they have to assume when they launch into space though I guess, and like Tara said at least they were doing something they loved. Only a very few get the chance to take that journey into space which I'm sure is completely amazing.

Moving on, I went out this morning to upgrade our printer. We were lucky enough to get some gift-sertificates for Best Buy (courtesy of HP) so I went out and spent them on (surprise!) and HP product. Picked up the Photosmart 7350 printer for a grand total of $2.70 out of pocket. With an additional $30 employee rebate still to come, I don't think we made out too badly! Spent a couple of hours getting it configured properly under Linux (yes, really! I don't know why it was so difficult) and I have now printed out a couple of test pics. (They look awesome!). Also picked up a new ceiling fan for the den while I was out. Installation should be interesting since I've never installed a ceiling fan before. How hard could it really be?

Don't you know that you are a shooting star
And all the world will love you, just as long,
as long as you are.
