Rolling Stoned: 468 - 465
• #468 The Paul Butterfield Blues Band - The Paul Butterfield Blues Band

I had heard of these guys before but had never actually listened to any of their stuff.  Not sure why. I loved it from the opening riff right through to the end.

My rating: ★★★★

• #467 Bruce Springsteen - Tunnel of Love

I've never really been big on Springsteen, I guess I just don't connect with his lyrics / themes / whatever.  Musically, it's fine but it just doesn't do much for me.

My rating: ★★✩

• #466 Coldplay – A Rush of Blood to the Head

It's Coldplay, what else can I say?  You're not going to get any blistering guitar solos here but I will grant that Chris Martin can belt out a decent tune from time to time.  I saw them play a short live set a couple of years ago and I'd wager that they come off a bit better in a live situation than they do on record.  Still, Clocks is fun as are a couple of the lesser-known tunes.

My rating: ★★★

• #465 The Magnetic Fields – 69 Love Songs

Literally what the title says.  Three full albums of love songs, and let's be honest, not very good ones at that.  I get that maybe you have to scrape the bottom of the barrel a bit in order to write this many songs all on pretty much the same topic but some of these lyrics are just… not good ("and when we've had a couple of beers / let's put on bunny suits. / I'd love to nibble on your ears / and do as bunnies do." might be the best of the lot, it's downhill from there.)  Maybe next time make it 10 Love Songs and only use the best ones, huh?
